Key insights from The Human Edge

On the 24th of June 2025 Ethos and Circuit Medical hosted an interactive deep dive to explore out how AI is transforming the content generation cycle in the pharmaceutical industry. It was an action packed day in which our speakers demonstrated that AI innovations can work well in the NHS and pharma and can overcome real world challenges. We also explored the ethical and compliance challenges that arise with the use of AI in our industry and how our human edge remains crucial to the ethical implementation of AI.

We heard from a range of perspectives from industry and NHS experts:

Dr. Sam McInerney discussed how AI is being used to aid in patient engagement and diagnosis

Dr Arpit Srivastava and Dr Monique Vekeria ran a live demo showcasing how AI is transforming the way GPs operate and how it can help us shift from a paternalistic to a more patient focused approach

William Fraser debunked some pervasive AI myths and discussed methods of introducing news AI tools to an organisation

Emma Harris discussed content generation – where we’re at and what the future may look like

Dr Nick Broughton and Dr Sheuli Porkess discussed the ethical and compliance challenges in using AI in pharma

Raks Kantaria ran an interactive, hands-on session with an AI content review assistant.

We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation around ethical implementation of AI in pharma at our monthly AI discussion forums. They are for those working in pharmaceutical companies in whatever role who have an interest. Contact us if you’re not yet part of the forum and want to get involved. It’s free and just a regular chat about ethical and human issues in pharma use of AI.
